H.L. For me "Mixtape" feels like a regular Vanessa Peters album, as I only knew two originals before, "Bizarre Love Triangle" and "Sister Golden Hair". The song selection is harmonious and all tracks fit well to Vanessa's work so far, representing indie rock pop songs which go wild ("Aside"), others with a smooth groove ("The Weakest Shade of Blue") and last but not least the more introspective quiet singer/ songwriter tunes ("Lodestar"). Really a true mixtape! Favorite track: Bizarre Love Triangle.

I've always wanted to do a covers record.
I've been keeping a list (first in a Moleskine, then it migrated to Evernote, then got exported to Gmail, and it's forever-long) for at least a decade of all of the songs I'd like to record one day. I'll never even be able to get my way through a quarter of them, but here are the first 10 at long last!

Rip and I have been recording songs one at a time for three years now - with a little help from our friends on a few of the tracks :) - and we are so pleased to finally share this little album with y'all.

This is one of the many projects that we could not do without our Bandcamp subscribers - so a special and giant THANK YOU to them!!!
