I am grateful for so many things this year. Grateful for my health and that of those around me, for the love of a good man, for the love of so many friends and family, for those of you that listen to my music with your hearts, for the fact that I am still making music long after I thought I’d have already moved on.
It’s impossible not to be grateful when I look back on 2015. It was a very …. full year. It wasn’t hard, exactly, but it sure wasn’t easy. We were juggling a lot of projects on a really tight budget, not a lot of sleep, and were fueled in equal parts by excitement and anxiety. Sometimes the anxiety side of the scale threatened to tip and swallow us whole, but mostly we kept it in check. We are so thankful for the friends and musicians that shared their time out on the road with us, for the fans that helped us out when our tour van started coughing up blood, for those of you that joined the Bandcamp page (like a boss, y’all!), and for those of you that just sent messages of encouragement when morale was low.
We are grateful for the studio, for a place of our very own to create music, and SO very excited to share with you all of the new music we’ve been working on. Even now, on the first day of the New Year, Rip is out in the studio, polishing the mixes of exactly that song. We’re hoping to send it off for mastering at the end of next week. Eeek!
So on that note…. I’m about to hit the kitchen and get started on black-eyed peas, collard greens, and cornbread. 🙂 I’m going to need all the luck those peas can bring this year…
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU and very best wishes to each of you for a new year full of love.
